Ambulance New Brunswick’s Judicial Review:
CUPE Local 1252 and CUPE Local 4848 Statement
Fredericton – The New Brunswick government announced today it would seek judicial review of the recent decision by arbitrator John McEvoy relating to the grievances from 2014 between paramedics from CUPE Local 4848 and Ambulance New Brunswick.
The Union understands the Government is exercising it legal right to challenge the ruling of the adjudicator.
“The courts will review this decision. The Union will respect the judicial process,” said Norma Robinson, President of CUPE Local 1252, representing health care workers.
“We will certainly be waiting for the results with anticipation. Until this matter is out of the courts, we will not comment further on this,” concluded Greg McConaghy, President of CUPE Local 4848, representing paramedics.
