Collective Agreement

Your collective agreement sets out your rights and responsibilities at work.  If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, please talk to your station VP or a member of the executive.




Our Purpose

To improve the social and economic welfare of our members without regards to sex, colour, race or creed. To promote efficiency in Public Employment and to manifest its beliefs in the value of the unity of Public Employees. 

As with any organization or group you need rules for the group to work. Below you will find that document which is the bylaws of Local 4848.

This is a living document that is updated as the needs of the local change.  


Bylaw Changes 



The bylaws are always subordinate to the CUPE National Constitution as it now exists or may be amended from time to time, and in the event of any conflict between these bylaws and the CUPE National Constitution, the constitution shall govern. 

These Bylaws can not be amended, added to, or suspended except upon a majority vote of those present and voting at the Annual General Convention.

Application for changes must be submitted to the Bylaw Chair person in writing within 90 days of the Annual General Convention or 7 days after the Annual General Convention.

CUPE 1252 members are part of the New Brunswick Shared Risk Plan for Hospitals.  If you have questions about your pension rights, please talk to your station VP or a member of the executive.


CUPE LOCAL 4848 is please to offer four (4) bursaries in the amount of $500.00 the bursary will be offered to a full-time student who will be attending university or trade school/community College. The bursaries are in the name of the CUPE Local 4848.

CUPE 4848 is very pleased to announce the recipients of the four $500 bursaries awarded to the following deserving students for 2020-21.

The Grievance process is one of the most important and vital right that any union has. This is the mutually agreed process by both the Local and the Employer on how issues will be resolved. Every Collective Agreement has a different process. You can find the process for Local 4848 outlined in Article 17 of the current Collective Agreement.
